Face shields are available in a variety of models to fit most helmets. When using a face shield, you must first make sure it’s securely attached to the helmet. It should be shock resistant and free of scratches. Scratches can cause light refraction and blurred vision. Colored screens help prevent eye strain during daylight hours, but it’s essential to always wear a clear one at night. Make sure the shield you choose is designed for your helmet and doesn’t interfere with any glasses you could wear. Face protectors can be cleaned with a mild solution of soap and warm water or a quality plastic cleaner.
